POPE RESOURCES COMMUNITY MEETING TO DISCUSS PROPOSED HERBICIDE APPLICATION ON PRIVATE TIMBERLANDS SOUTH OF HANSVILLE SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 10TH

Pope Resources agreed to postpone a permitted herbicide application in Kitsap County south of Hansville until after we held a community meeting to share information about the proposal and to hear from the public.  The meeting has been scheduled for September 10, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Greater Hansville Community Center.

“We understand that our neighbors have questions and concerns regarding our proposed herbicide application,” said Adrian Miller Director of Administration and Corporate Affairs, “and we hope to provide a civil and constructive forum to both share information and to hear directly from our neighbors.”

A more detailed agenda will be published in advance of the meeting.

 
Tree Farm Closure Update - Friday, July 27, 2018

Due to extreme fire hazard conditions, Olympic Resource Management  will be closing the Oregon and California tree farms to all public access effective 7/27/2018.

Due to extreme fire hazard conditions, all lands owned by Pope Resources in Jefferson, Mason, King, and Kitsap county will be closed to the public effective 7/28/2018. 

Due to extreme fire hazard conditions, all lands owned by Pope Resources in Southwest Washington will be closed to the public effective 7/28/2018. Tree farms impacted by this closure are located near Kapowsin, Morton, Riffe Lake, Swift Reservoir and North and South of Raymond Washington.

Olympic Resource Management regrets the inconvenience to those who enjoy and respect our timberlands; however, the exceptionally dry weather conditions make for extreme fire danger  that threaten private and public resources. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to ensure the safety of the community, our contractors, and our employees.

NO DRONE ZONE - Thursday, February 22, 2018

Our timberlands are a "no drone zone" in order to prevent collisions with private planes and helicopters used in the management of our timberlands, to protect human health and safety, to reduce the risk of wildfires, and to prevent damage to trees, towers and other property. The use of drones or other unmanned aircraft systems ("UASs") on or above any portion of our timberlands is strictly prohibited without express written authorization given by one of our tree farm managers. In addition, it is illegal to fly a UAS in or around a wildfire firefighting operation.

 No target shooting is allowed on any Olympic Resource Management property.
