Pope Resources, Olympic Resource Management (ORM), and Olympic Property Group (OPG) benefit from a 150-year heritage of land and resource stewardship in the Pacific Northwest, stemming from our past linkage to Pope & Talbot, Inc.

Pope Resources was created in 1985 when Pope & Talbot spun off its timberland and development properties in Washington. Pope Resources’ solid base of land and timber value includes 70,000 acres of commercial timberland and development property located within 50 miles of Seattle (one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in North America), and another 43,000 acres of land and timber located in southwest Washington State (approximately 60 miles south of Mt. Rainier).

In 1997, ORM was launched to offer our expertise and services to clients interested in optimizing the value of their timberlands. OPG was formed in 1998 to manage and develop real estate properties. Today, Pope Resources owns 111,000 acres of timberland, approximately 3,240 acres of development property in Washington, and a minority interest in the 91,000 acres owned by our ORM Timber Funds in Washington and Oregon.
